Congratulations to everyone in DCC who organised an Hour of Hope for Haiti last week, organised by the Student Council. They raised over €1,400
See a Video below showing images of the event. Any of you who passed through the assembly area on the day, will have witnessed the fantastic achievement of the college, as students laid out a massive amount of coins in a spiral, symbolising hope and never ending concern for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. We eventually ran out of space........... but we definitely did not run out of coins!!!!
Thanks to everyone who participated in any way, especially those of you who helped with supervision in the area, and of course the team of students who made posters, and gave up their lunchtime to assist with the creation of the spiral. It was lovely to see so many students from 1st to 6th year, working so well together for such a good cause. Many of you gave very generously and we really appreciate every cent we collected. Please pass on my thanks to many of your parents and neighbours who donated money to the cause. Well done to Ms. Murray's 2nd year Geography (2A2) class who made a great contribution. Even Mrs. Deegan's tin full of money found its way over to us from her new location in Navan! Special thanks to Ms. Curran's daughter who donated her piggy bank full of coins......how cute!
Finally, the biggest thanks of all to Naomi Dannaher 2nd yr, whose concern for Haiti instigated the collection in the first place.
