Open Night 2009.
On Wednesday November 4th, Dunshaughlin Community College welcomed parents/guardians and 5th and 6th class pupils from the surrounding areas to their open night. School management were delighted with the huge numbers in attendance.
Mr. Browne principal of the college and Ms Corrigan deputy principal gave presentations to the attendees about the ethos, curriculum, and pastoral structure of Dunshaughlin Community College. They outlined the diverse range of subjects on offer and listed the vast array of sporting and extra curricular activities available for students.
Attendees were then brought on a tour of the school by DCC students. As part of the tour they visited many classrooms, practical rooms, science laboratories and IT rooms. Part of the tour involved a visit to the sports hall where all core subject departments and extra curricular groups had set up exhibition stands. Many teachers, students and representatives of the Student Council were present to discuss all aspects of school life.
The tour ended with light refreshments and an opportunity to meet with Mr. Browne and Ms. Corrigan. Feedback from parents/guardians and pupils alike was that, the Open Night was very informative and enjoyable.
